Saturdays are meant to be enjoyable. That description of “enjoyable” can of course mean many different things to each of us. Throw in our moods and feelings and the complexity of the term grows further. On this early March day I was struggling with a nasty cold and not feeling the most upbeat. But hey, the sun was shining and everyone could feel spring’s presence in the air. Well, everyone but me, as the cool air just seemed to crush my sinuses. Still, I knew I had to get out and do something. So off to the woodshop I headed to work on a few more custom frames. Later in the day while on the walk back to the house I noted that my little Downy friends were flitting about the backyard stumps. The afternoon sun cast a golden glow about the little female’s perch while the cold, snow covered ground continued to reflect a cold background of blue. Click. Ah, I was feeling better already. Amazing what some warmth and a downy conveyor of afternoon delight can do for your spirit.
