Life can be frantic and confusing. Work, family, health, misfortune and a sundry of other factors of daily events can get to us over time. A get away is needed to bring one back to reality and appreciation for all we are blessed with each and every day. Such an opportunity to refresh the soul was enjoyed recently at Bear Head Lake State Park. While the entire area was immensely beautiful, what we came away with was that once again, it wasn’t the “big-name” item that dropped our jaws. No, it was a humble, quiet place, tucked in behind the hills and hidden in a forest of towering pines. Yes, it was the scenery at little Norberg Lake that caused us to step back and admire, appreciate and wind down. Sitting along the shoreline and gazing across at the point, crowned with pines and wrapped in a golden swath of grasses, we savored the time to gather ourselves, breath life anew and move on.
