We thrived for a week this past September in the beauty of western South Dakota. Badlands National Park, Custer State Park, Wind Cave National Park and Spearfish Canyon were our main stays for our brief time there. The scenes were so spectacular and the wildlife so plentiful that I don’t know where to begin. But maybe that’s it; we start at the beginning. Thus it was that near the end of our first day of travel we arrived at the Badlands. Spectacular forces of nature over eons of time provided many a wonderful scene. Today’s capture of the Towers near the Ben Rifle visitor center provides one of the spectacular parcels of food for the eyes that one finds on the “loop”. There will be much more to come, but this seemed like the right place to start.
