Working Their Way Through The Ducky Maze

On the dark and gloomy side, most of December 2015 was punctuated by the shortest hours of daylight for the year, cloudy skies and very few days of sunny skies. However, even those conditions had a brighter side as it for the most part kept the temperatures above normal and provided an environment that encouraged migrating wildlife to stick around just a bit longer. Coots, swans, Redheads, Ring-billed ducks and Canvasbacks were all spotted in the area. Even some rare Scoters were sighted on the open waters. All the activity made for some diversity on the open water spots as noted in todays shot of these three Trumpeter Swans as they worked their way through the ducky maze of local Mallards.
