I don’t know of any animal on earth that can be more exuberant than a little pup. All the world is new to them and they have such a short time to conquer all before they pass puppy-hood. Yes the motto is indeed, “Do it now before something else seizes my attention.” At 11 weeks of age, our little Millie is already out for long walks with us in the county parks or the local wildlife areas. True she does make it a little harder to approach the local wildlife. But it is truly fun to watch her relish the sheer joy of life. For her, not much beats digging up a new pocket gopher mound, rolling down an embankment of thick bluestem or checking out yet another strange pile of poop. Not much that is except for a whistle and promise of another treat from my pocket. At that point, “Watch out! She’s incoming!”
