During the summer months, driving around the countryside after supper is always interesting. Yes, I do head out to specific spots that I think may be “in season” or that should show well given the current weather conditions. But many times, I’ll finish up the evening at a planned location and then meander my way back towards home; in search of a new photographic opportunity. It doesn’t happen every time but the frequency is pretty common where I’ll come across a jewel I hadn’t seen before or had nearly forgotten about. Such was the case on this June evening when I happened to remember this hidden pond and got there just in time to behold a glorious sunset. The painted sky on Morical’s Pond was indeed a beauty and displayed a palette that only the Creator could dream. If you hadn’t guessed, the moral of this story is that although you may be seeking new opportunities, it is as a result of that search when we may offered the opportunity to reacquaint ourselves with a friend almost forgotten.
